Who we are

We are Rainbow Rural centre (Gt Dunmow) C.I.C. (community Interest company)  We are based on Sallet's organic farm, Sallet's Green, just off High Easter Road, Nr Barnston.

How we work

Rainbow Rural centre is based on Sallet's farm, which is our family run organic farm. We have set-up Rainbow Rural to run alongside the working farm to enable us to provide meaningful access to our community of able, disabled and disadvantaged.  Rainbow Rural is a registered Care Farm, and provides a unique view of animal care, conservation, horticulture, equine therapy, wild life monitoring, where your food comes from, rural skills, the list is very long!

Announcement

To ensure the wellbeing of all our clients and staff, also following governmental advice we are asking no one visits Rainbow Rural Centre if they have had cold & flu symptoms within the last 14 days. Some of these symptoms are possible indications of the Corona Virus (Covid 19).

This is extremely important due to some of the clients who have vulnerable immune systems.

If you are unaware of what symptoms to be aware of or need any more information about the Corona Virus (Covid 19) please use the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Summer wear

·      Old trainers  / heavy duty boots

·      Summer wear

·     Sunscreen / hat

·      Waterproof coat

As it is the British summer we do recommend a weather check but you can expect it to be hot. We don’t     recommend black clothing as that can absorb heat, and as we will be busy outdoors it could become unsafe. We also recommend keeping legs covered even if it’s hot for safety reasons.

Bucket Walk (New)

While all indoor clubs are closed would you like to come for a lovely walk on our Care Farm? There’s minimal contact with other people because we’ve got lots of space to enjoy.

For a donation of £10.00 well give you a bucket of food to give to the sheep and a bucket of bird food for the wild birds.

Pre-booking is essential, so please drop us an email and we’ll send you details and a map. The farm walk follows a circular route which will occupy you for upwards of an hour.
